Travel Insurance - Why You Should Not Delay Purchase Or Travel Without It!

Imagine the days of your departure from long-awaited and much-needed vacation. Glowing with excitement, waiting for lazy days on the beach enjoying the sun and balmy evening dinner and cocktails on the terrace of the pool. Never occurs to you that you should buy travel insurance.

Everything is booked and confirmed. Have your passport, airline tickets, reservations and holiday money ready. Your bags filled with all the necessities and clothing for the bright warm sunshine. You can take a taxi to the airport, board your flight, flying to your destination, take your car, check in your hotel, unpack, and head to the beach to enjoy the sun. Easy!

Two days on vacation you have a momentary lack of concentration, while crossing the road and forget how to see. You can get it wrong it will go, and ...

BAM!

There is, lying prostrate on the hot asphalt with one of your feet facing the wrong direction. Shock sets in. Strangers rush to help. You hear someone shout:

Somebody call an ambulance!

You rushed to hospital for x-rays and later the doctor gives you the disappointing news: compound fracture requiring extensive surgery and a long recovery. Request information for your safety. Then, and only then, does not it dawn on you that should you buy travel insurance. You stammer apologies and excuses: you do not believe, you have to travel so much, so many holidays do crazy things, but nothing went wrong before.

Now what?

Your treatment will cost a packet. You can panicked calls to family and friends at home. Someone suggested to buy travel insurance and be covered.

Yes, of course! This is the answer. Why not. Buying a policy online and then contact your claims accident report.

At this point the Department Claims are none the wiser. They take the number of policy and information and tell you not to worry. Have at hand.

The next day we receive word that claims travel insurance people are urgently trying to contact you. You can call the help line and listen to the news, you feel faint, and your world begins to crumble around you.

"Sorry, but we checked dates of your policy and it seems that you do not buy insurance until the day of the accident. Our Insurance requires the purchase before leaving your country of origin. In fact, the time of purchase shows that the policy was purchased from recorded time of the accident. Unfortunately, we're really sorry you should be informed about this, but your policy is invalid and can not process your request. "

What? Say again?

You hang up, dumbstruck. Furious! How dare to challenge your application! We paid the premium for travel insurance policy and should cover you! The hospital bill will run into tens of thousands and just do not have that kind of use of cash.

In desperation you call your embassy and tell them what happened. You can ask them to intervene and make the insurer pays. You'll know that's unfortunate, but there is nothing they can do to make the insurer pay. You are bound by the terms of the policy.

How can this be? Are you a citizen!

What a hard lesson. If you have any travel without insurance may feel relieved that this has never happened to you. Do you ever find yourself left wide open for the risk of economic disaster of this magnitude? How many times have you (or someone you know) go away on holiday or a weekend break without Iowa disability insurance?

Nevertheless, in disbelief, and kicking yourself (or, if not for the broken leg) you try everything you can think of. We consider contacting the financial ombudsman, TV stations, radio stations, guards and newspapers. You should explain what has happened. The company must be wrong. Must pay! But not all in vain.

Become increasingly frantic and hospital bills continue to rack up. Your loved ones will try to console, but no one has the courage to tell you that it was completely your fault. They know that nobody else is going to get the bills for the accident.
